Could it Be???

Hi all...

Everybody has so much and so many problems and some of them are typical... Want to know a non typical office problem? Black magic...

Yesterday we had to attend an internal course entitled Stess and Emotion Management: Office Conflicts ... The counselor/facilitator is a new kid on the block, still getting use to the "tradition" of my institution... At the end of the course we played a game. We were divided into 6 groups and each group was known as a village... The scenario of the game was every groups has to defend their village from being crushed by a developer. He played the role as the head of the village who was greedy for some commission from the developer... We played and defended our villages, laughed and teased each other in other teams when suddenly it was his/her village... He/she stood up, scream at the top of his/her lungs and banged the table defending his/her village from being destroyed... OMG.. this was just a game... Kind of silly and a bit stupid but we endured it to entertain the facilitator.... Did he/she has a problem?? Everybody was so astonished and speechless...

Turned out he/she does... Poor him/her, somebody casted three spells on him/her and his/her family... A family matter actually, but the spell put so much toll on him/her that he/she just have to have a medium to vent most of the anger and frustration that satan put on him/her... His/her heart is full of conflicts and disturbances.. He/she just told me about this just now, and I felt so sorry for him/her. Now I understand why he/she acted that way yesterday.. I told him/her to tawakkaltu 'alallah, be patient, and be strong... People have just to stop using bomoh, pawang and dukun (black magis practitioners) to solve problems. People like this are cowards, disbelieve that Allah has all the POWER to make it be or not to be... Kunfayakuun... Subhanallah... May Allah help him/her to face this challenge in his/her life...

I hope he/she'll get serenity, tranquility and happiness soon... May Allah help him/her always..

It is NOT Your Job Anymore!!!!!

Hi all... Sometimes people just can't accept that the status quo has changed. Workers are reshuffled because lots of them got promoted... "Column rised" as they call it...

In my department, they are about 8 people who are fortunate enough were column rised and promoted to be "Head of Program". My office mate get column rised and he/she still teaches here with some special DH48 perks... So, he/she has to be a "mentor" for my program in addition of the Head of Program (HOP) I already have... bummer...

He/she was suppose to write "Notes of Tasks Handovers" to this new HOP but I didn't see it happen and my new HOP doesn't know what is in need of immediate attention as of 1 July 2009... OMG...

Furthermore, he/she still tries to control the program as if he/she still has any say in it... Hello... You're just a mentor, not the coordinator anymore!!!... You had your chance to work on the special room, but there are no progress since 2007... I really don't understand because I consider myself as a new comer here... Just who am I to say anything about it because he/she said that he/she can handle everything... I offered my help last year since the first day I set foot on this soil, but due to the connotation "YOU'RE STILL GREEN HERE" and you don't know anyone and everyone just yet, he/she said he/she'll handle everything... But now, when a couple of us are trying to do something about this predicament, he/she "surfaced" back and offered to have a share in this matter... HELLO!!! It is not your job anymore!!!!! You're just giving people headache and making things worse!!!!!!!

But, working in this system for 10 years, I think that he/she is trying to get "something" out of the projects.. You know what I mean... I've been in this industry for quite sometime to be able to SMELL something FISHY... OMG... I don't know what he/she has in his/her mind, but, all I know now is I'm in trouble because my students do not have any place to learn in... Allahu Akbar!!!

To Teach or not To Teach... That is The Q

Hi all... I wonder... do people know how important it is to study? Do people know how critical it is to have the most qualified people to teach the people who want to learn...

I just learned today that another department in this institution has 80 teaching staff to cater 2 diploma programs as oppose to my department which only has 55 teaching staff to cater 5 diploma programs!!!! How do people up there calculate the yearly budget???? We need qualified staffs to teach these students appropriately to really prepare them to face the REAL WORLD...Furthermore, if MQA knows about the insufficient ratio of lecturers to courses, the students' future is in jeopardy... OMG...

I'm having problems in teaching my program as well. I don't have the facility to train them in!!! My students are suppose to have a simulation room this semester, but the space hasn't been set up yet until today!!! Where am I suppose to train them in????? An empty classroom with no appropriate facilities? They are the first batch for this program and they deserve the sufficient if not perfect facilities to learn with... hmmmm.... MQA is going to question about this and it is the management's responsibilities to answer... wa ka ka.... To make it more ironic, they knew about this requirement since 2007!!!

I don't know how they are going to go around this matter. I don't think a body like MQA will look the other way.... All I know, as of today, in order to train my students sufficiently, I have to be innovative and creative... I wonder... is there any boutique owners out there who want to lend me a hand???
Please Allah, help me... amen... Subhanallah...

Competency Level Evaluation???

Hi all... I think most of my colleagues are sitting for this evaluation.. But the system for this evaluation process is changed to a more complicated form and the people at the administration didn't hold any kind of briefing to inform these people about their FUTURE!!!

I find this abnoxious... Think about it... They have to apply to sit for this evaluation process and they did it a few months ago, having in mind the system is still the same... This could really ruin people's future right... they were reminded to send in their papers for the evaluation, which they didn't know they have to write. We were told that our EO knew about this change a couple of months ago! No memos, no e-mail, no copies of the orders were circulated since then.

I don't want to point fingers but, the administration people should hold the briefing as the system changes along with the BIG HEAD's change...
Alhamdulillah, I'm not one of either parties... :oP
