The Bloody Witch strikes again....

I called the graduate office this morning to ask about the letter I asked them to write for me. I need the letter to collect some info from SSM and MRCA. Oh well, I need them for my research. Then I asked her about the Blood thirsty Witch and she said she was in but so busy preparing for her "something" tomorrow.... Always the busy bee... But, I said to her, I didn't want to see her, I just want to e-mail her and ask her about my evaluation form...

Then suddenly, after I hung up the phone, I got a call from that office saying that the "W" wanted to see me... Oh blyme... after 4 months, now she wanted to see me?... What have I done this time?... I left her alone didn't I? I told her PA, I needed half an hour to get ready... (Well, I was in this room, still in my pyjama doing my work... DUUHH!!!... Who's looking or smelling me anyway... It was still morning o.k.. around 9.30am)

So I went there, knocked on her door and asked her how she was doing (like I give a damn)... Ha ha ha... She opened the conversation with threats, continues with more threats, adding and expanding the threats, and ended that conversation with... yes... threats!!!... I just reply, "I understand", "I understand" and "I understand"... She said she did fill my evaluation form and I thanked her...

I came back to my room and turned on my computer to look at what she wrote... OMG!!! She condemned me to the core and even mention of terminating me. That I didn't do anything after her "WARNINGS"?????... She had the audacity to call me early November 2011 and told me NOT to write anything because I'd be wasting time due to the fact we didn't form any framework yet. I told her I was writing something about my study and she ordered me to stop writing!!!? PhD student stop writing?... That was early November 2011, before all conversations (oral, e-mail, sms, pigoens ended)... The best part in her evaluation, saying, I didn't do anything after her threats!!! HOW DARE YOU!!! HUH!... and the worse part and the biggest mistake she did... There is a column in the form where it says,
"Have you see the student before you fill this form?"... And she wrote "YES"... hu hu hu...
THAT is A BIG MISTAKE "W"!!! YOU LIED BIG TIME!!!... For the record, she filled the form on 9 January 2012, and the semester only ended on 31 January 2012.. How bloody efficient!!!

So, what did I do?... I evaluated her truthfully!!!.. Swear to Allah, I did...
How often did you meet your supervisor? Answer: 2.
Is the supervisor give you sufficient support? Answer: NO, Why? Answer: I had to wait for my turn. She was too busy with her work, and she has too many students under her supervision. The best part... HAHAHAHAHA...
"Have you seen your supervisor before you fill this form?" Answer: NO. "Why?" Answer: She refused to see me since NOVEMBER 2011!!!

It is her words against mine and she said she is ready for what ever I'm gonna bring to her... Just wait for it "W"... I will bring it to you... But in the form of action. I will graduate and even you can't do anything bout it!!!... My biggest mistake that led to this calamity was my saying in the e-mail to her that went like this... "Dr., I have trouble writing, please help me :("

Subhanallah!!!... Alhamdulillah!!!... Hanya balasan dariMU yang selayaknya untuk orang-orang yang menganiayaiku. Aku hanya bergantung kepadaMU Allahu rabbi, ya Rahman ya Rahim...

Time Base (13 years of working period)

Everybody's waiting for the promotion results this month.... and suddenly, "they" are proposing that those who have worked in the entity for 13 years or more will be promoted first by "time-based" system...

What about the people who work their "b@tts" out and went through the GRUELING interview? Aren't they going to be considered to be promoted as well? Why change the policy every year? The first year, they say they want to promote the "oldies"... The next year, they still want to promote the "oldies" as well, and they say, "you guys are still young, pity the seniors who have been working for more than in this entity"... Ok fine... and last year, when it is our turn, they manage to come up with all sorts of "rubbish" and they say it is to really filter the ones who really do their job well... fine.. We endure the process... And now, when we're suppose to get the result of the promotion, they propose another increment/promotion scheme!!!.. Talk about munafik!!!

They helped their "friend" to get the perks and disregard us who really do the work for them. Yes, they are seniors, but, don't you see that their "butt" prints on the chair? They are deep I tell you!!! We did all their work that you hardly see us sitting at our table. We didn't go shopping when there's Jusco Card Day!!! Despicable souls!!!

Politeknik dapat peluang untuk memberikan biasiswa kepada para pensyrarah selepas keluar dari kementerian pelajaran Malaysia
biasiswa banyak tapi penyambut biasiswa tiada pada masa dulu, suasana tersebut berulang sekarang
tetapi, sekarang orang ramai biasiswa tiada sehingga tahu 87, pensyarah politeknik dapat tetapi perlu bersaing dengan guru di sekolah... inilah satu dari nikmat diperolehi di kalangan pensyarah untuk melanjutkan pengajian ke peringkat lebih tinggi. Peluang tak mungkin diperolehi kalau tidak di kementerian yang baru. Bilangan PhD adala ukuran kepada prestij institusi tersebut berwibawa dan cemerlang. PhD adalah perjalanan yang akan membuat kita lebih dewasa dalam berhujah, penyampaian.
Ada masa orang gah dengan jawatan sahaja. Kita tidak mahu Dr yang tidak matang membuatkan pekerja bawahan tidak hormati
Model Ekonomi Baru ; institusi memainkan peranan
1. rujukan kepada masyarakat dan Negara; pelanggan, harus dilihat sebagai orang yang boleh menyumbang kepada organisasi; menjadi rujukan, memberi sumbangan dari segi idea, dihormati dari segi kemahiran. Kalau mahu jadi orang terpelajar, perlu jadi orang yang dihormati dikalangan masyarakat.
Perjuangan harus diteruskan dan budaya membaca harus diteruskan... Saya yang nak pencen pun masih membaca... The tip of the Ice is still melting... budaya yang semulajadi bagi mereka yang bergelar Dr. Kalau tidak, tidak boleh sustain.. harapan.. pensyarah di politeknik menigkatkan kemahiran dan orang yang mempunyai pemikiran yang tidak jumud, pandangan luas, berilmu yang boleh dimanfaatkan... if you can empower people, you can benefit in the long run...
Technical vocational education sekarang dipandang sebagai peluang kedua atau terakhir. Pandangan tersebut perlu diubah kerana untuk menjadi negara maju harus capai pendapatan perkapita US15,000 dalam masa 10 tahun. Oleh kerana pendidikan sebagai punca rezeki, dan pendidikan adalah perkakas untuk tranformasi masyarakat.
Saya sangsi, 53 tahun merdeka, GDP US7,000 sekarang nak lonjak ke US15,000... siapa yang bertanggungjawab? Human capital yang akan memandu perubahan tersebut. Sebagai change agent, kita perlu memainkan peranan.
Pendidikan teknikal dan vokasional perlu memainkan peranan, 60 peratus tenaga kerja perlu ditingkatkan pendapatan; produced in technical and vocational education... kembang tak tentu... finance, insurance, service industries, tangible. Negara bergantung kepada kita dan kita tidak memenuhi harapan dan hasrat.. bagi saya ia adalah satu dosa. Kamu adalah mereka yang akan mengubah landskap pendidikan teknikal dan vokasional.
Contoh: Negara barat, Amerika, Jerman, Perancis, penekanan terhadap pendidikan teknikal dan vokasional. Belanda 60-70%. Di Malaysia perdidikan ini dipandang sebelah mata. Imej TV dipandang tinggi. Di Jerman mereka pandang ketiadaan sekolah vokasional adalah pincang kerana mereka tidak mungkin menjadi Negara maju.
Perjuangan yang kamu ambil sekarang akan meninggalkan kesan terhadap landskap TV sekarang . Jangan terlalu tertutup, perlu berubah mengikut keperluan dan polisi Negara. Matlamat Negara, kemajuan perlu datang bersama kualiti hidup. Keseimbangan perlu ada, pembangunan sahsiah perlu diambil kira.. hard skills and soft skills..
Dengan PhD adalah satu lesen besar untuk member sumbangan, kesan kepada masyarakat dalahd besar. Kelebihan perlu member manfaat kepada orang lain. Zig Zagler See you at the top...

Itu yang saya harap dapt dikongsi bersama dan kita harus tetapkan matlamat untuk mendapatkan PhD, konsisten dalam pengajian, jangan jadi antagonis dengan penyelia, tahu kekangan dan berkerja di dalam kekangan tersebut.
Zero sum game... buat kat orang, Allah balas... The rate of success is low.. eventually dapat juga.. but don’t want to be subjected to that agony, finish it off and start new life as a lecturer.. don’t ever take the chance for not doing it well for the first time... I’ve heard a lot of things about local supervisors, they got their PhD abroad, attitude different, supportive, friendly..hallmark of developed society and nation.

Promotion.... Back Stabber??? or Just Plain Selfish?

Salam all...

People are busy and struggling to get ahead in gathering, photocopying adn concocting paper work and stuff to fulfill the requirements to get promoted...

People in the office are sighing here and there, murmuring dissatisfaction towards one another, blaming each other for not informing this and that to everyone...

Let me ask.. who is responsible in our own promotion process? Is it the other people or is it ourselves? Is it their responsibility to ensure we have the correct documents and records or is it our own responsibility? My God, get over yourself and read the guidelines provided by the headquarters... I myself am having headache listening to people blaming and finger pointing to each other in the verge of attempting to be a HERO in the mist of this ridiculous conflict...

Yes, there are 'clicks' at the office, there are back stabbers, and there are opportunist...but it is our responsibility to ourselves to be aware and well informed about what is going on and what is the main purpose of this promotion...to get a better position and recognition of all the hard work we've put in all these years of work... FOCUS MAN...

Steer away from office politics, get out from mind numbing slanders and finger pointing... be objective and FOCUS on what is on hand... STOP BLAMING OTHER PEOPLE FOR SOMETHING THAT YOU CAN DO BY YOURSELF... Allah... Iqra' bismirabbikallazi kholaq... Read and you'll know what to do.. Don't let the ones who have the knowledge to manipulate and use us... They are just plain SELFISH!!! Selfish and AFRAID of people not praising and recognize them for their 'HELP' and favor to others...

Our REZQI is in Allah's hand... do our best and pray for the best... Allah determines ALL... good or bad, ALLAH knows what is best for us.. Innamaa'l u'sriusro.. Innamaa'l u'sriusro... akan datang kesenangan selepas kesusahan... This is ALLAH's promise... ALLAH says it twice in this surah Belive in ALLAH? Believe in his POWER because ALLAH never sleeps and most knowledgable... Ask for ALLAH guidance and forgiveness... and....

STOP ALL THE NONSENCE!!!!!

The Truth or Lie

Salam... Hi all....

Final exam has end and all the results are posted on the internet. Including my students... But guess what... I failed a student because he got 58% on his/her continuous evaluation and 18% on his final exam. 68+18/2 = 43%... Can't do more to help him/her to pass...

Oddly, he/she manage to do his/her quizzes and assignments... He/she failed his test... My colleagues said, if the students are part time students, we should pass them because they pay a lot for each subject... But what if they are really really weak? Should I pass them as well... People will question my integrity as a lecturer and the quality of my assessment... isk isk isk...

Turns out, the student I failed is a brother/sister of a colleague... and now he/she's not talking to me... I don't take this seriously because Im just doing my job.. By the way, I cought him/her cheating on his/her quizzes but I still give him/her chances to rectify his/her mistakes... Am I that bad?

I also gave these students an extra assignment to help them with the continuous evaluation, be he/she chose to turn it in the day after I process the marks and turn it in to the head of department... isk isk... Nottttt....

Just a Waste of Time...

Well, as some of you know now is crunch time, we have to finish marking exam papers, update the teaching file and post students' marks on the post boards...

Then suddenly, we, the selected few have to finish and prepare for a Creative and Innovative Group presentation for the royal highnest. Ironically, the royal highnest can't have our audience because he has to attend another meeting with the officers for faaaarrrr morrreeeeee important business....

Marking exam papers and updating teaching are merely a small business and our time is not that vital?????? We spent and yet a week for the stupid thing and nothing!!!!....

UUurrrrggghhhh!!!!!

I'm going to say ta ta and are voir to this institution to further my studies for four years and I wish, as I return to this place, the reign will change and the royal will be more thoughtful and mindful of his/her subjects....

Making it Real... Making it True...

Salam and good day...

Well, it has been quite a while... Lots have went on in my life... Fuhhhh!!!... I went for an interview last month and I got the scholarship!!! he he he... Alhamdulillah.... It became a predicament for my colleagues because they said I helped them a lot and not having me next year would be a lost... Well, I don't really think so highly of my abilities because there are others who are creative, innovative and hardworking, but they are not that flamboyant as me... he he he... They work to the max and take no credit for their work. They just need to be discovered that's all....

I can't achieve perfecness without these people... I plan, I manage, I run, but working with the right people in my team helps me get things done... AKA, I can't do without them... Maybe Im a risk taker and I don't really take critics into my heart... I do blab about it among friends; I do need to vent my frustations, I am human ya'll...

So, in short, I think I should expose these people to the right crowd so that they will get discovered and appreciated... I know, I know,... I am flashy... I tell people about what I do because apparently, to be appreciated here, I need to do so... thus, obtain great appraisals at the end of the year ( hu hu hu uhuk... not monetary, but great evaluation by the top bosses)...

They need to be appreciated as well, they worked hard for it but too shy to brag about it... No no no... the work shy in this department will put you behind... waaa...!!!

PhD... here I come... already got my supervisor, already set my heart on Universiti Sains Malaysia, Pulau Pinang, got referees among friends... Praying hard that I'll get in next year... amiiinnnnnnn.... I plan to finish my studies within three years... Wishful thinking that I really want to come true... making it real... making it true...

Bubur Lambok.... The Cooking Competition

Yes... bubur lambok is a traditional dish that most people make during Ramadhan al Mubarak... Rice congee cooked and mixed with spices, prawns, meat or chicken... nyum nyum.. yummy...

But why cook it during Ramadhan? Who would judge it right away? People are fasting..Who is going to taste it? Hellooooo... Aaahhh yes.. because it is bubur lambok, a dish that is only cooked during Ramadhan... I see...

Yes... there are women who can't fast during this holy month and they can taste it, but do we need to expose her just because she can drink and eat during the day, unlike others who have to fast until dusk... It is still a stigma, eventhough it is known that women "on leave" from prayers every month can't fast during that time, but eating openly in front of fasting people is considered rude...

Yes... this competition is during office hours, class hours and yes the participants are mostly lecturers who have class today... Canceled the classes to join this competition and left the students browsing the campus as they pleased. They knew about this competition, but why they didn't bother to swap their teaching periods with other lecturers (who were not involved with the competition) so that the time can be used efficiently during the morning time. Everybody knows that teenagers study better in the morning, while their brains' are still fresh...

So... What is the outcome of the competition? What were the objectives of it? Does it benefit the students? Does it help the lecturer to improve their teaching abilities?

Yes... people may say that I'm being negative and anti social, but, please, I'm just thinking on this side.. the student's side... The time that was suppose to allocated for them was "bruised" by these kinds of "Social Affairs"... Is there no other time for it? Appropriate time? The weekends perhaps? Masya Allah... Laahaulawala...

A bit Frustrated...

Hi all... I'm a bit frustrated because every semester we change subjects that we teach and complementing duties.... These are the duties which I call "*T*^(**&*&%(*%*" duties which take away my preperation time to write modules, class notes, update and grade student's quizes, test and exams... ggrrrr....

In addition to this anxiety, when the previous people pass the duty to a new victim, they always forget to prepare a list of what has been done, what's still in progress and what the future plans, job scope, extend of the duties and to whom I report to... Hey Mr. Stingy! Make everybody prepare this list so the new VICTIMs can do their jobs better... So that we don't waste our time FIGURING it ALL OVER AGAIN!!! So time wasting!

I'm so exausted of all this nonsence. The work is not efficient, the time management is haywire, the quality of the students goes down the DRAIN...

Hi all...

Last two days I went on MC. That was the day I have to attend a meeting with the director of this institution... A senior colleague of mine handled the meeting and she said it went well despite some glitches...

1. The people who suppose to table financial report didn't turn up

2. I didn't write a memo to all the member's about the meeting

3. I sent an e-mail about the meeting in the evening of Friday

4. The director didn't turn up because of the non-existence of the memo

All my fault... But frankly speaking, all last week was a disaster in my career... People demand so many things from me... reports, class notes, meetings, site visits.. aaaggggrrrhhhhh!!! To me, these things are meaningless... I transfer here just to steer myself AWAY from these things!!!... The work for class and department, I can handle, but work with the superior is something I HATE...

You want to know why? Because they are big babies that need to be pampered and cherished all the time, they load you up with all sorts of rubbish today and expect you to turn them in the next day, wrongly evaluate your work, disearn your effort, break your heart... never feel appreciated... hhhhmmmm....

Well, so I just own my mistakes and I promised not to do them again... insya Allah... but the nature of a superior seems to me never change since the last place I work... The superior gave me bad evaluation after all the work I've done, broke my heart and stumped on it...

I'm moving on with life with the awareness of human makes mistake and not all human are perfect, including me... I forgive them.... I forgive myself... I pray to Allah to grant us prosperity here and 'there'... amin...

As you all know, I just got back from a really enjoyable course...

I came in to work this new week hoping to finish and get on with the assignments, chores, knick knacks and stuff to start the new semester's class and what not... I was hopeful... But hopeful I was... I don't anymore...

For starters, this semester start off with a mind numbing, time wasting activities that was not suppose to be done.... Who celebrates the 40th of anything other one's birthday... What would people call it? It is not Jubli Perak... Far off from Jubli Emas... So annoying I might say...

I was so annoyed because they took away lecturers from classes to play the 'host' role in a potluck party. They took away students from attending classes to fill a big hall of 500 seatings to listen to a lecture that not even have anything to do with the purpose of attending this institution to STUDY!!!!!!!!!!

I was so annoyed yet again because I had to cancel classes last week because I HAVE to attend this COMPULSORY course... Another week down the drain... And now, THIS WEEK, I have to make for all the classes, I have to make up for all the chores, assignments, knick knacks, they suck me in AGAIN for making and creating a layout for a new campus and to finish a postponed group project!!!! Who am I? Am I a lecturer? A construction worker? A Diplomatic Administration Officer? What do all these stuff have to do with lecturing, teaching, making sure my students get their diplomas, graduating with quality studies????? Sometime I think and I fell I'm like a ping pong ball... hit here and there as they please... So tiring...

Finally ... a Course that I Really Enjoyed...

Hi all... I just got back from a really interesting course...Odd... but I did like it... It is a required course and at first, since it is compulsory, I thought it was going to be boring... as usual... I still can't brush off the experience I had when I attended the Decision Making Course on the top of Cameron Highlands last year.. a waste of time and money... eerrrggghhhh!!!

The title was Outreach/Promotion Strategy for Life Long Learning... learning how to promote life long learning programs in our institutions... I thought it was going to be another marketing lesson and a routine morning till night sit-in but instead, fulfilling activities and games which interestingly serve the objectives of the course itself... Rarely happens... ha ha ha...

Maybe, I'm already on another level all together... or maybe I have so much experience that I need a more challenging tasks to inspire and elevate me to the next level. Ten years of working experience in the same field exposed me to different kinds, yet, routine tasks, challenges and people... Maybe I need to change...

I've transfered from Sarawak just recently, and people they really had me, and made me realized that not everything was easy, beautiful, sweet, happy and smooth... I was challenged to the maximum when I was there, that I realize the summit of my ability, patience and most importantly, the proximity between Allah and me... Subhanallah...

There, I realized, I achieved tranquility.... Have you? Do you guys know how? I sure did... and my life is calmer nowadays... ;o)

Close? Quarantine? When? How? What About Work?

Hi all..

Just now a friend informed me that there are already 40 students are being quarantine in the hostel and four of them are in the hospital for positive AH1N1 case...

When are we suppose to close this instition? Universiti Teknologi Mara Sri Iskandar closed its premis to all when they found out that there are 2 infected students... Now, there are 40 with 4 positive cases... SHOULDN'T WE START PANICKING AND GET OUT OF HERE???

This pendemic is spreading like wild fire here in Ipoh, and people still seem relax and waiting. Are they waiting for someone to die before taking any action? Yo Boss... are you not going to do anything?????

Hi all... a new day.. a new week... but I want to tell about last week's tale... he he he...

A friend from my old work place sent me smses telling about an audit they did for their cooperative stores... It goes like this...

The cooperative stores were just dust on the floors with nobody bothered to even take a quick glance... A few colleagues and I build up the stores, merchandised and set up the business from scratch.. from the dust on the floor into 2 convenient stores, 1 laundromart, 1 printing store, and we bought washing machines and dryer for the laundromart, gondolas, cash machines and racks for the convenient stores and merchandised all of them the best that we can with the help and trust of all the suppliers out there... We had good, in fact great rapport with them... We managed the stores and even bought a van for the cooperative store as well... I left that hellish place last year, July 2008 and left the stores to engineers and business "savvy"!!!!?????? people to handle... So that is the background of the story...

The audit report came in last week, and it shows that the stores has lost... And they blamed me for it... How convenient! Blame the person who's not there... When I was there, I BEGGED for help to manage the stores, but nobody responded... I run the stores the best I can with the help of some inexperienced staff!!!!! And now, the report showed some lost and they blame me... Let me ask you, is there any business of two years of lifespan gain profit within the first FIVE years of operation????? Crazy la they all ni....

What's so amusing is, they do not know the meaning of the ratios... Example... ROI.. return on investment.. they DO NOT KNOW what that mean.... Ha ha ha ha... business savvy aeeehhhh???? I made a lot of investments on properties and store needs to run the business smoothly, it is up to them to operate the stores sufficiently to make profit... We also ordered some inventories for them, but they didn't encourage their students to purchase them from the stores, now, who is there to blame as well??? THEY ASKED US TO GET THE STUFF FOR THE STUDENTS IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!! STUPID A_ _ H_L_....

I really want to know next year's audit report... I want to see how they pull out from the MESS they said I made... They didn't remember the day I begged for help, but when they have to carry the burden I carried, they look for the black sheep to finger point the blame...

Putting my frustrations aside, I hope the best for those people... Allah knows what I did and what they did... I worked as hard as I can, and I do hope they are honest with their effort as well... I hope Allah will guide and help them as well, in what ever they do....

I forgave and I forgive them for slandering me... May Allah accept my repentance until the day I die and keep me out of hell fire... Amin..

Bla.. bla...bla....

Hi all... today is the post-morterm for yesterday's potluck party... bla bla bla... Just as I thought... People are mumbling about them having to arrange the dinner sets for the VIPs... Duuuuhhhhh!!!!

I still remember in the first meeting with the head of department about the party, my group was assigned to arrange with the water caterer to prepare drinks and table clothes for the VIP tables.. Never a speck that he/she mention about me having to deal for the whole/full dinner wear for them.... alahai....

One day, a person came up to me and ask me to ask the caterer to prepare the complete set for the three VIP tables.. And with the spirit of helping others, I called three caterers and endure one of them ridicule and belittle me just to fulfill this person's demand...

I even asked my office mates to help me out, but they are unable to do so... I worry that their beautiful plates get broken or what not...

Alhamdulillah...like usual, insya Allah, fainnamaal usriusro... innamaal usriusroo... I got one of the caterer to lend me the dinner sets eventhough we don't use his catering services... and I hand over the responsibilities of taking care of the sets to this person... is it wrong of me to do that???? He/she asked me to help him/her and now he/she's talking on my back about me handing over her job in the first place!!!!!!!!

Tell me... Do I still have to attend to this matter as well? Did he/she help me with my chores of arranging the water deal? NOPE!!! I'm not counting scores, but, come on man... I went out of my JOB SPEC to help him/her out and this is what I'm getting now??? I don't expect a thank you notes, praises or even a hamper... just appreciate it why don't you...

So, in sum, in the future, I shouldn't help others from now on... I'll just help those who I really know and would appreciate it... Masya Allah... give me guidance...

The potluck went on well... Alhamdulillah.. There ae comments about the VIP table setting.. Well, let them settle it within their committee... I'm just in charge of the water.. I'm the WATER GIRL... ;o)

Yes, during potluck parties people are suppose to mingle, but... there is an exception... When a VIP is walking towards the food stall, give way laaaa to him/her... don't "rebut" lah to get the food as well... As a civilized civil servant, you should know this COMMON SENSE!!!. I think he/she eats before his/her parents eat at home; they don't know the customs and order aaaa?????
Have respect to our leaders how ever they are to you... Even Rasulullah s.a.w ask the congregation to stand up to give respect when Sayyidina Abu Bakar walks into the masjid...
COMMON SENSE PEOPLE... COMMON SENSE!!!
